Donald P. Long is the proud Owner and Creative Director of The Double Edged Experience. He has specialized in men’s grooming for over 15 years and opened his first barbershop at age 24.
As Creative Director, Donald keeps all barbers current with latest techniques. He schedules classes and workshops for barbers to attend and grow. He also keeps himself up to date on all of the latest hair trends by attending many classes and workshops and then shares his knowledge with his team.
Since opening his first barbershop Donald has always continued to educate himself by attending business development and beauty workshops. He has been trained and worked with several product lines including Walker & Company Brands (Bevel) and others. He offers a full range of haircut, color and hair loss replacement services in addition to skin and facial treatments, including certification in Custom Hair Units and Keloidnalis Nuchae Treatment.
Donald’s passion for barbering and beauty has brought him much success in the industry. He has opened and operated numerous barbershops in the Bay Area, California and has served high-profile clients such as the San Francisco 49ers and public personalities. Along with his high-profile clients, Donald works with underserved community members through various events and charities. No matter who is in his chair, Donald strives to provide excellence that will inspire self-confidence. Donald loves to connect with his clients from all walks of life on a personal level.
Donald is a native of Vallejo, California, the Bay Area. Believing strongly in the principle, you must carry a crown before you wear it. As a younger man, Donald often rode his bike to the homes of prospective clients. Always willing to go where he’s needed, Donald earned a reputation for not only his skills, but also his trustworthiness. Today, he relishes any opportunity to be part of solutions that help people. He continues to be involved in a variety of projects as investor, educator, innovator and entrepreneur. He also devotes his time to youth outreach organizations and causes. In addition to hard work, his faith in God has been a guiding force in his life - one he does not take for granted and remains ever-grateful for.
